Our Breakfast and after school club/Holiday club is available for children aged 4-11 years and we can hold up to 16 children. We open at 7:30am and close at 6:00pm. Our breakfast and afterschool club caters for St Ambrose Barlow and St Stephens primary schools in Astley. Our holiday club is run on a first come first serve basis for each of the school holidays and our booking forms are available throughout the year, there is a 50% booking fee payable upon booking with the remainder payable on the first day of attendance.

We provide a selection of cereals and toast for breakfast and a snack for tea when the children have been collected from school, please see our nursery menu. During Holidays we provide the children with a hot cooked meal at lunch time as well as the above.

The room has been designed as a “cool and stylish” place to be (as requested by the children when being designed) We have a comfy area with brightly coloured giant bean bags and leather sofas where the children can relax, read a book, play on the Xbox or the Nintendo Wii, or play one of the many board games. We have an area where children can play music, try out the key board or guitar and even have a bash at the karaoke – a particular favourite of everyone’s. The eating area consists of breakfast bars and bar stools and 2 tables and chairs; this area is also used for games arts and crafts and other such activities. We have a Pc for the children to complete their homework, surf the web (age restrictions in place) or upload and print some of the many photographs they like to take. We also have a foosball table which is a great hit with the older children.

Activities are planned with the children’s input to ensure we keep their interests as the main focus, this is usually done on a day to day basis; however activities that need a little more preparation are usually arranged beforehand.

Examples of activities:

  • Baking and preparing their own tea, this can be anything from biscuits, cornflake cakes, Pizza to apple pie (using the apples we’ve picked from one of our apple trees in the garden)
  • Making our own smoothies
  • A trip out to see the horses
  • Karaoke competition
  • Photo collage
  • Arts and crafts for events such as Halloween, Diwali, Christmas, raising money for charities

The children also access the outdoor play area daily, they enjoy playing hide and seek, hunting for bugs and planting and picking fruit/vegetables for their latest cooking ideas. Please take a look at our gallery and arrange a visit to come and see us.
